Hector Vizoso
Hector Vizoso is an American abstract expressionist painter. Born in New York City in 1961, he currently resides in Palm Springs.
The use of acrylic paint allows Hector to apply thin washes of color on the canvas while simultaneously invoking a sense of movement. His brush stroke emphasizes the sweep of his arm creating a fluid and spontaneous painting.
Hector’s great grandfather was an artist in Spain who worked with the restoration of the Castle Monterreal in Baiona, Galicia. Although he never met the man when he had the opportunity to visit the region as a child, he found him to be an inspiration. Color became his focus in college studying under Robert Swain, Ralph Humphrey, Vincent Longo, Robert Hout and Roy Decavara at Hunter College in New York City.
